Our Legacy and Mission

IED Communications Ltd is not only the publisher of the Industrial Automation monthly magazine but is also the Organizer of India’s Biggest and Southeast Asia's Biggest Exhibition for the Automation Industry – “Automation Expo” (www.automationindiaexpo.com). Together with the magazine, the organization has been in the business of promoting the automation industry in India for over nearly 4 decades now and has played a vital role in the evolution of the industry in India, first through the Industrial Automation magazine and later the exhibition.

Meet the Founder

Dr M. Arokiaswamy, Founder & Managing Director, of IED Communications Ltd., and the brain behind one of the most coveted industrial trade fairs in India – the Automation Expo – is one of the forerunners of this vision.

 

The “Make in India” slogan might be making roars now, but a few visionaries were pioneers of this concept and much ahead of their times. Not only did they believe in the true potential of the motherland but they also contributed hugely through uncanny foresight and sheer hard work, to put India on the global map as a market leader.

 

Riding on success;

Today, with its headquarters in Mumbai, IED Communications Ltd offers the most sought-after publication – “Industrial Automation”, to a strong reader base in India and abroad encompassing topics on R&D labs, Testing Centres, Engineering Colleges, Manufacturing Companies, major dealers and distributors of Industrial products including Exporters. 

Over the years, Dr M.Arokiaswamy became an integral part of several global industrial exhibitions and extensively toured the world from the Americas, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and so on. 


This recognition helped him build a strong rapport with delegates from other countries while interacting with them at various press conferences. Having travelled extensively and witnessed industrial exhibitions across the world, Arokiaswamy was determined to bring home a similar trade fair and make the country proud.

With this thought, the Automation Exhibition in the year 2002 with a modest number of 157 exhibitors at the Nehru Centre, Mumbai. Started as a biennial show the exhibition turned into an annual extravaganza in 2011 to meet the increasing needs of the industry.

Acting primarily as a platform for introducing New Automation techniques, the exhibition has grown exponentially. Presently it is considered the biggest Automation Expo in the entire South-East Asian Region for showcasing the latest innovations and providing opportunities galore to network with the best of technical minds in the industry.

SUPPORTING ASSOCIATIONS

When two majors come together, a revolutionary alliance is created. Automation Expo has partnered with several International and National Technology Associations. The Associations support the Automation show by showcasing their technologies, also sharing their expertise with visitors at the Automation Expo. The associations invite their members to visit the expo with the intent of expanding the knowledge or skills of its members through their visit to Southeast Asia's largest Automation and instrumentation show
