Robots are playing wide and dynamic role in our daily life. It feels like science mechanism is come to be a reality. Robots are gradually coming closer to us as good technology existences to manage the functions of their home. As technology becomes a lot of advancing, it's clear that the world is changing and there's a good possibility that robots will be working in ordinary people's homes within the next decade or so.
The World Robotics 2021 Industrial Robots report shows a record of 3 million industrial robots operating in factories around the world – an increase of 10%. Sales of new robots grew slightly at 0.5% despite the global pandemic, with 384,000 units shipped globally in 2020. This trend was dominated by the positive market developments in China, compensating the contractions of other markets. This is the third most successful year in history for the robotics industry, following 2018 and 2017.
Global robot installations are expected to rebound strongly and grow by 13% to 435,000 units in 2021, thus exceeding the record level achieved in 2018,” reports Milton Guerry, President of the International Federation of Robotics.. “Installations in North America are expected to increase by 17% to almost 43,000 units. Installations in Europe are expected to grow by 8% to almost 73,000 units. Robot installations in Asia are expected to exceed the 300,000-unit mark and add 15% to the previous year’s result. Almost all Southeast Asian markets are expected to grow by double-digit rates in 2021.
Indian Industrial Robotics market is estimated to grow at 13.3% CAGR from 2019-2024.
India is one of the strongest growing economies among the emerging markets in Asia,” says Junji Tsuda, President of the International Federation of Robotics.
Regarding annual installations, India now ranks eleventh in the global annual supply – three places higher compared to the previous year and ahead of Singapore, Canada and Thailand.
Articulated robots are the highest robot type being used in India. Articulated robots account for more than 50% of the units being sold annually. These robots are used in applications like pick and place tasks, handling jobs, soldering , and other similar tasks requiring fast and precise automation
End-User - Segment Analysis
The automotive industry is the major end-users of the industrial robotics market in India, followed by the electrical & electronics industry. For meeting all the global standards with regard to safety and emission , the industrial robotics will play a crucial role in the India Industrial Robotics market.
Application - Segment Analysis
Material handling is one of the major applications of industrial robots contributing to 1/3 of overall market revenue in 2018. Advancement in technology, increasing wages for emerging markets, decreasing costs of major technologies, as well as external funding for robotics, are the major driving forces driving this industry
Drivers – Indian Industrial Robotics Market
Growth in the Automation sector to boost the utilization of Industrial robots in India calls for precision machining, along with high production rates, has made automation and instrumentation an indispensable aspect of manufacturing units.
