Robots are playing wide and dynamic role in our daily life. It feels like science mechanism is come to be a reality. Robots are gradually coming closer to us as good technology existences to manage the functions of their home. As technology becomes a lot of advancing, it's clear that the world is changing and there's a good possibility that robots will be working in ordinary people's homes within the next decade or so.
The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) on 19th February 2020 forecast two million new units of industrial robots will be installed in factories around the world between 2020 and 2022 in their report titled Top Trends Robotics 2020
“Smart robotics and automation are vital to deal with new consumer trends, demand for product variety or challenges from trade barriers”, says Dr. Susanne Bieller, General Secretary of the IFR. “New technological solutions pave the way for more flexibility in production.”
Simplification, Collaboration and Digitalization are key drivers that will benefit robot implementation.
Sales of industrial robots in India reached a new record of 4,771 new units installed in 2018. That is an increase of 39 per cent compared to the previous year (2017: 3,412 units). India now ranks eleventh worldwide in terms of annual installations.
Indian Industrial Robotics market is estimated to grow at 13.3% CAGR from 2019-2024.
India is one of the strongest growing economies among the emerging markets in Asia,” says Junji Tsuda, President of the International Federation of Robotics.
Regarding annual installations, India now ranks eleventh in the global annual supply – three places higher compared to the previous year and ahead of Singapore, Canada and Thailand.
Articulated robots are the highest robot type being used in India. Articulated robots account for more than 50% of the units being sold annually. These robots are used in applications like pick and place tasks, handling jobs, soldering , and other similar tasks requiring fast and precise automation
End-User - Segment Analysis
The automotive industry is the major end-users of the industrial robotics market in India, followed by the electrical & electronics industry. For meeting all the global standards with regard to safety and emission , the industrial robotics will play a crucial role in the India Industrial Robotics market.
Application - Segment Analysis
Material handling is one of the major applications of industrial robots contributing to 1/3 of overall market revenue in 2018. Advancement in technology, increasing wages for emerging markets, decreasing costs of major technologies, as well as external funding for robotics, are the major driving forces driving this industry
Drivers – Indian Industrial Robotics Market
Growth in the Automation sector to boost the utilization of Industrial robots in India calls for precision machining, along with high production rates, has made automation and instrumentation an indispensable aspect of manufacturing units.
