About the Company
Kinetrol Ltd was established, in Farnham, in 1958. The founder, Mr A R B Nash, came from Vickers (Aviation) Ltd/Vickers-Armstrongs (Aircraft) Ltd where he worked with Sir Barnes Wallis of ‘dam-buster’ and ‘swing-wing' fame. The company’s activities were initially centred on the sale of rotary dashpots that were based on Mr Nash’s patented designs but Kinetrol was quick to recognise an emerging need for industrial and process automation and, in 1960, Mr Nash also invented and patented a vane type pneumatic rotary actuator. The market grew rapidly and, by the mid-1970’s, the turnover of the actuator business overtook dashpot sales. Since then, Kinetrol has continuously developed and extended its actuation range to meet market demand for increasingly sophisticated and accurate process control and monitoring equipment. The company now offers a complete range of control accessories to compliment its range of 17 actuator models (with torque outputs to over 40,000 Nm).
